Comprehensive Achievement & Civic Readiness

The World's Best Workforce (WBWF), developed in 2013 (Minnesota Statutes 2023, section 120B.11), is a comprehensive, long-term strategic plan to support and improve teaching and learning with the ultimate goal of creating the world’s best workforce. During the 2024 session, the Minnesota Legislature renamed WBWF to Comprehensive Achievement and Civic Readiness (CACR). This new name emphasizes dual roles for the goals set forth in district plans—supporting students with academic achievement within their pre-K through 12 experience as well as preparing them to be active members of their community after graduation.. It is based on achieving these 5 specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and timely (SMART) goals:

  • All students are ready for kindergarten
  • Closing the achievement gap
  • All students attain career and college readiness before graduating from high school
  • All students graduate from high school
  • Prepare students to be lifelong learners

Lionsgate Academy developed a plan to support and improve teaching and learning that is aligned to the Comprehensive Achievement and Civic Readiness and includes the following:

  • Clearly defined student achievement goals and benchmarks
  • Process to assess and evaluate each student’s progress toward meeting the state and local academic standards
  • A system to review and evaluate the effectiveness of instruction and curriculum
  • Practices that integrate high-quality instruction, rigorous curriculum, instructional technology and a collaborative professional culture that support teacher quality, performance and effectiveness
  • Strategies for improving curriculum, instruction and student achievement
  • An annual budget for continuing to implement this district plan
